Care of Melamine Dinnerware:

- How can I avoid tea and coffee stains?

Due to the nature of the melamine material a certain amount of tea and coffee stains after prolonged use is unavoidable. In order to keep this to a minimum I recommend the following: Do not pour rolling, boiling water directly in the mug/cup, as this may cause minute cracks in the glaze, making it abrasive and therefore easier for tea and coffee stains to cling to. Let the kettle rest for a minute and then make your hot drink, better still use a tea or coffee pot. Rinse or clean with soapy water straight after use. Stains can be removed by using Milton sterilising tablets, just pop a tablet into a mug, fill with cold water and leave to stand for 1-2 hours. Do not use bleach to remove the stains, as bleach is too strong and will leave a strong taste.

Any other stains on the dinnerware such as yellow curry stains can also be removed by soaking the item in a solution with Milton sterilising tablets.

- Is my dinnerware dishwasher safe?

All our melamine dinnerware can be put in the dishwasher, including those with non-slip rubber rings. (Not suitable for industrial dishwashers)

- Can I use my dinnerware in the microwave?

Melamine dinnerware is not suitable for micro wave cooking.

- Can I pre-heat melamine dishes in the oven?

Melamine is not suitable for use in an oven. The material does not keep the heat for any length of time and therefore pre-heating is not recommended.

Care of polycarbonate glassware

- What are the glasses made from?

Most of our beverageware is manufactured from high quality polycarbonate giving the product pristine clarity and outstanding durability.

- Can I put the glasses in the dishwasher?

The glasses are dishwasher safe on the top shelf of the machine. (They are not suitable for industrial dishwashers).

- Will the glasses crack or break?

Polycarbonate is a very strong material and it will not crack or break. However it may be scratched or damaged if cleaned with abrasive brushes or sponges. we also do not recommend to stack the glasses  (especially in a boat where vibration and movement can cause the glasses to constantly rub together, making them dull and scratched)

- What can I serve in my polycarbonate glassware?

Polycarbonate glasses are suitable for almost any drink but please be aware that certain aniseed based drinks such as Ricard, Pernod, Anis, Raki and Ouzo will cause permanent damage
